   I guess this would exclude access to internet via mobile phone?

      Megan –

      According to Census 2011 data released by Statistics South Africa, households with access tend to connect to the internet from their cell phones.

      The question was “How does this household MAINLY access internet?”. 16% of households responded “From cell phone”, 9% “From home”, 5% “From work” and 6% “From elsewhere”.

   I would love to know what kinds of connections the 9% “from home” have. We are spoiled in the US with DSL/cable/fiber. When I was in SA we used a wireless 3G/4G device “at home” to connect to the Internet. I didn’t get a sense if that’s how most people used it from home or if they even had options to get a true high-speed connection.
