Sunrise sectors are emerging or rapidly growing industries that can absorb large numbers of young people into employment, especially when systemic barriers are addressed. Assuming a GDP growth rate of 1-3%, 187,000 to 375,000 youth jobs could be created by 2030, through targeted support in sunrise sectors. This could reduce youth unemployment by 2–3%.
