   Say no more, it speaks for it’s self. Solution: Governments should be thinking like a private business. Hey, it is the tax payers money / investment!!! The problem is that the non paying population have far too much say in electing the GOVERNMENT (sic)

      People are willing to work long hours when they find the job inresting, challenging and rewarding. People stop being clockwatchers when they feel that the are being fully engaged. Perhaps a long hard look must be taken at governments HR Practises, and Remuneration and Reward structures…

         I haven’t thought of it like that John, but you make a good point. I suppose the challenge is to change the manner of the status quo. As per the past all the drop-outs of the few privileged were housed here, while the masses were whipped into financial submission through it’s hierarchies….and so it continues

   I think is depending on what type of work are you doing and the mentality of government employees not working should be erasted because they serve the nation not a portion. Some responsibilities are due whereas private are focused on one thing. Therefore level of responsibility is not the same.
