   OK, that’s about R1 per person on the planet. I’m willing to pay my Rand, and help a few others pay theirs.

      That is a fair interpretation. It is worth noting that the costs quoted above are specific to the costs of researching and developing a vaccine. There are further costs involved in manufacturing and distributing the vaccine once it has been approved.
      Getting a large proportion of the global population vaccinated will cost far more than the R3.3bn – R8.3b quoted above.
