Historic First Flypast
On 24 June 1995, a South African Airways Boeing 747-200, “Lebombo,” piloted by Captain Laurie Kay, made a historic low-level double flypast over Ellis Park Stadium moments before the Rugby World Cup final. It was the first time an aircraft of that size had flown so low over a packed stadium, with “Good Luck Bokke” proudly displayed on its fuselage
