   THe problem here is that the government is not supporting SMME across the board, it is supporting only “black” SMME. The small businessman who cannot claim to be previously disadvantaged, has a hostile environment. Racial discrimination against him/her, a swollen and disinterested bureaucracy, massive red tape and a rampant SARS with sweeping powers to take funds out of businesses at will, which uses those powers with little concern for the consequences. ALL small businesses need support and a nurturing environment, not just those who happen to be started by a particular racial group.
