   I would be careful with these stats. The cell companies use wireless and that is not nearly as reliable and consistent as fixed lines.

   Peak throughput is a useless measure. There are many factors that could affect these results. Positive or negative.

   Broadband is another catch all phrase without a clear measure. Go tell someone with a 3g modem they have 7mbps when they can’t even connect at times.

   I have a 4mbps ADSL line and 10mbps at the office. What more do I need?
   Good friend in the Uk has a bit more and we get the same download speed to the states.

   It is like having a Buggati Veyron for speed in any major city in the world. You will rarely get to drive at speed.

   Like Adsl, it works if you are in the right areas. 3g is nice but all cellphone operators see it is additional low income source. So they chuck the poor internet surfers off the moment voice calls come a long. Which is a function of how busy it is. So 3g is great as long as you have little competition on your cell and area.

   The problem in SA???? cost… per gig is high with some technologies. Not so bad anymore, and depending on your use.
