On 16 March 2024, the Golden Triangle Chamber of Commerce (South Africa) achieved the Guinness World Record for the largest serving of potjiekos stew — weighing 2,794 kg (6,159 lbs). Cooked in a 4,000-litre vessel under the supervision of six chefs and three health inspectors, the stew was shared with festival attendees.
