A Rosé-Tinted Past
Rosé wine is one of the oldest styles of wine, linked to ancient Persia, Greece and Egypt, made by crushing red and white grapes together. As a mark of civilisation, the Romans further diluted their wine with water, varying ratios between 1:1 and 1:3 depending on the occasion, as the consumption of undiluted wine was associated with barbarism and drunkenness.
