   I would prefer sweden, the avg. wage is a lot higher than over here. They get value for their 57%. No Crime, Free Medical aid free public schools, good infrastructure, Zero corrupt goverment officials and they actually get service delivery. (Value for money)

   I totally agree with Magnus. Marginal tax rates are meaningless unless the cost of the services which we still need to buy AFTER we are taxed are added back. If this was done then the real tax rate of SA taxpayers would be much higher. Why has nobody done a study on this?

   This is a ridiculous comparison from a statistics business. Compare apples with apples this like comparing with pineapples. I agree with both Magnus and Frank.

   Maybe you shoudld ask the Danes and Swede TAX PAYERS what they get back from from their Govts for their tax and compare it to SA. I would suspect the Swedes and Danes get far far more.

   The fact that South African taxpayers get very little for their money is relevant. But bear in mind that in the countries mentioned, in addition to income tax there is also VAT at 25% on most goods and services, although there are more exemptions (eg health care) than in SA
