   Do we know the poplation demographic breakdown at these dates. Can we see the relative increases and decreases / emigration etc. Garth

   The fact that a population of 50 million is considered to be accurate at present sounds by far more realistic than what was recently stated as being 42 million. However, in June 1996, the figure revealed from a very reliable source placed the then total population figure at 57 million. One would wonder whether our authorities have a clue as to how grossly over populated our country in fact is. With the very distinct possibility of soon having to face up to very serious water shortages in our country, it would be very wise to establish truthful figures relating to our population.
   We can no longer afford the expensive luxury of a very badly executed population census, as was clearly the case in the past.

   Terry, do you have sources for the 42 million and 57 million you quote? I’d like to look into your claims.

   Frankly i don’t comprehend doubling if people who die or we bury are more that babies who are born. Really system of this world is failing me. If we choose to love one another and live in peace, really that proves that we understand the fact that we are not in the world forever. Those who are doing good please continue to do good.

   1904:
   Black 67%, Coloured 9%, Indian 2%, White 22%
   Male 52%, Female 48%

   1946:
   Black 68%, Coloured 8%, Indian 3%, White 21%
   Male 51%, Female 49%

   1985:
   Black 65%, Coloured 12%, Indian 4%, White 20%
   Male 49%, Female 51%

   2010:
   Black 79%, Coloured 9%, Indian 3%, White 9%
   Male 49%, Female 51%
