The Middle Class Muddle 2011

The presentation entitled “Middle Class Muddle” takes a critical look at a poorly-defined market that seemingly comprises everyone who is not either desperately poor on the one extreme or super wealthy on the other. Unsurprisingly the lack of a clear market definition makes it almost impossible for companies to figure out how big the market is, what the market needs and how to reach it. We will use the latest data to clarify some of the confusion and to explore some of the underlying trends impacting on the market, including BEE and the changing profile of the labour market, property market dynamics and state investment.
