   Creating 11 million jobs. JOB = just over broke.
   Why don’t they rather focus on creating 2 million small businesses. If every small business have 5 workers that gives you 10 million. The only problem is that the concentration is so much on only a part of the population and other race groups battle to get the help and finance even thru banks to foster small businesses. I have first hand experience with that. You go to the bank with a business plan and product state of the art technology and a looming market. They turn you away. A garden worker comes to me with an idea and a will to succeed with no business plan at all. I refer him to the bank. He got the finance and the help. The products (cleaning stuff). Lots of compitition in that market. My product a world first class who would at the end of the day help millions of people in this country and in africa. The finance was the same I asked for. So what was the difference a part from a business plan and super product. I guess it is a colour thing!. South Africa must wake up because this is why there is so much a brain drain. Grants will not make the African dream come true. Hard work and non discrimination will!

   The unemployment rate is actually 38% according to StatsSA. There are an additional 2.2 million people who have given up looking for work which is given in the StatsSa figures but are conveniently dealt with “below the line” when the 25% unemployment rate is calculated.
   In the USA from 1977- 2007 big business reduced their workforce by 1 million a year, on average and new businesses in their first year employed 3 million people a year, on average.
   The annual net gain of 2m employees each year in the US was directly attributable to the starting of new businesses.

   The creation of sustainable and growing small businesses is the only way to create new job opportunities but that presupposed that we have to teach, instill training and enthuse young people to know how to become successful entrepreneurs and not just peddlers of newspapers,fruit and window washers at street corners.
   The real issue is that very few people, if any, at government level have any idea of how to be an entrepreneur and so they simply talk about the need for entrepreneurs as they do about global warming as the “sound bite” makes them look good.
   Having been a successful entrepreneur for over 35 years I know how hard, but rewarding, it is to be an entrepreneur and GetTheJob.co.za will be the vehicle to teach and assist entrepreneurs in South Africa, all for free.
   Then the “pie in the sky” government’s vote catching projections about reducing unemployment might have a chance of becoming real.

   Neville, I wish you well with this project. we as a country need something to be created that will work. Please!! no more fast tracking skills training, which are there for our “majority” that still need BBEEE to get them to look great and contribute little to getting any job done properly. The task is getting BIGGER as the jobs that are available (especially in the governmental departments) are given to what seems politically correct.
