   Clearly there is no political will at all to save the Rhinos, otherwise we would be throwing all the available resources that the Parks Board used to have, at this terrible problem.

      There is political will, but not enough. Saving the rhinos is one of many conservation efforts our country needs – not the only one! And the Parks Board has been called SANParks for several years now.

   Why don’t we cut off All their horns ??
   I mean it looks terrible, but at least we keep the rhino alive – We are Obviously at a point where we are this desperate.
   Also interesting…
   but isn’t this a statement on Chinese Economic Expansion in SA – I mean none of the Chinese Malls in Joburg pay Any taxes either…

      Cutting off every horn of every rhino in this country (about 20 000 rhinos) would cost an incredible amount of money and resources that can rather be used in other ways (such as improving anti-poaching measures to save all our animal species). But you are right that its a desperate issue that needs practical solutions pushed by passionate people.
