Jennifer – that is a good question. Let us compare these figures to the Statistics South Africa mid-year population estimates of 2009.
The Black population (Black African, Coloured and Indian/Asian) was 91% of the entire South African population [88% when looking at 20+ adults only].
The Female population was 52% of the entire South African population [53% when looking at 20+ adults only].

Does your term “public higher education instutitions” refer to General Education & Training institutions, “high schools”, or tertiary institutions like universities?

I assume the term refers to post-Grade 10…………….FET, etc…..
