I totally agree. Loyalty and credit worthiness and the fact that you bank with them (Standard Bank) for the last 30 years means nothing to them. All I can say It won’t be long anymore when I tell them “I was your client”

  2. Ian Snelling says:

Amazing that the trust and unhappiness figures are so low! I’ve been with my lot for 25 years for one reason only…it’s the bank I hate the least.

  3. Peter Kreft says:

I think that banks have far too much power. As Prof. Michael Porter predicts in his 5 forces model, when you have to much power in any grouping, you will always get this. The probelm is that no matter how bad their service or attention, whether this is business or private banking, you do not have much choice. You can go to the next one and you will be lucky if they are not worse. So I guess that you need to grin an bear it all while they do the one thing that they do well: make profits. In case you have not realised it, you now do the work that the bank used to do years ago and you pay for doing what you do

Nowadays people go where the price is right. Money talks (excuse the pun)
Poeple have become complacent and just dont move becuase its too much hassle regardless of the service they get. There are a few banks out there that should be wearing masks and holding guns….class Arobbery on the charges we pay and the bit we get in return. I must say i am happy with my bank, one out of many I am sure that is

    • Pieter Lubbe says:

hell which one is that. You sure its South african?

      • Beez says:

I guess i am just easy to please and rather do my banking myself instead of relying on other to do things…..
Just so sad that we as consumers have no choice but to go with the banks we have

  5. Joe Bullish says:

    Remember the old Trust Bank?
They had a pay-offline BANKING WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN.
    Sadly how true!
