  1. It says volumes about the dearth of the African village as we know it, including the de-Africanisation of the family unit as we know it: grandparents enjoying their golden years with their children and grandchildren…

    The notion of Old Age Home is incongruent and alien to the basic tenet of family bond that seals itself with passing years cementing parents, grandparents and their grandchildren to a common union even in old age. Home alone is the result of ditching away all of these value system.
