Congrats to SAB. What we don’t have stats for is the Traditional Beer market, which might be way bigger than our “Clear beer” market.

  2. Natan says:

It would be interesteting to see what % of a bottle of Carling is spent on advertising – I wonder how far the Carling advertising budget is from the top of the list for the highest amount spent on any single product in SA?? Then, the point is well made – surely more than 1.8 mil people drink nkompoti.

Natan – do you mean umqombothi?

  4. Natan says:

    yebo, Jabulani

I have, quite frankly, never found a beer, or that type of drink, that serves any sensible purpose; unless someone is almost perishing from thirst and there is really nothing else available to save a dying mans life. I have also not encountered any beer that was so far removed from tasting like elephant urine that a man could become truly addicted to the awful flavor. So, in all honesty, I believe it is the high alcohol content in Black Label that is the big attraction to our thoroughly clear-thinking, alcohol-hooked, male, beer-drinking fraternity that is causing the sales of Black Label to outperform the sales of other alcohol-inferior brand-names. Can we drink to that?????
“No way, said the 3year-old; it tastes kakka!!”

  6. Kevin Abraham says:

Well…. you all should try Umqombothi, [or Kahlamba] which is not only free from preservatives, but is also a high energy nutritional drink, or so they say.

  7. Natan says:

Akwaba wonke umntu omhlophe ebe yazi ukuba umqombothi awukho umnandi noba wonke umama wom Xhosa enokuwenza. uSAB akanaku hlazeka anga-tyeba!!!!!
