What proportion of DSTV watchers are men? Probably not very different from the 62%.
Lance – according to the AMPS database, 57% of DSTV viewers (in the past week) are in fact men.
However, the point I was trying to make comes across nicely when you compare the statistic above to ones such as the following:
68% of The Style Network viewers and 59% of The Home Channel viewers are women.
It is not surprising that The History and Nat-Geo channels are mostly watched by men. Excluding only the News, Sport, Kyknet, Kiddy Comics and Isidingo, the rest are pretty much a total waste of time that could be spent on far more important things. The movie channels are generally pathetic, to say the very least. Our Nation needs good, interesting, wholesome, thought-provoking education far more than they need frivolous, fantasy.
