Despite the urban myths regarding the low number of single men in Cape Town, 36% of Cape Town men aged between 25 and 50 describe themselves as single, while only 28% of Cape Town women of the same age describe themselves as single (marriage rates are roughly 60% for both genders). (AMPS2005A)
